my summers been really fun. today is my birthday. well, actually my half birthday but i celebrate it. kinda. haha. anyways, this summer iiiii, went to Student Life Mission Camp which was amazinggggg. i learned so much there. and then i went to Camp Barnabas and i learned to love kids with disabilities even MORE. i learned to actually treat them like people, because in fact, they are people, and just to love on them. everyone wants to be loved, including them. i also worked at VBS, and i got to be a shepherd! i was 2nd grade lilac and my group was all girls. it was too fun. oh yeah! my older brother, Stephen came home from camp for a couple days and that was fun! this will only make sense to some of you but, he finally told my parents, and i get to go see them on Friday!! im so excited! oh yeah, the fourth of July is on Monday! thats always fun.
anyways, ive been learning sooo much this summer, and about everything too. ive been learning a lot about God, ive been learning a lot about myself, ive been learning about how to treat others, ive been learning about everything. i lovee it. im learning im not alone in my struggles, and theres people i know and hang around who are going through the same thing but nobody shows it so we all think were alone.
i guess thats it. maybe ill update later this month. who knows.

| im gonna copy and paste a blog i wrote on myspace.
ok well this weekend i went to the DIVE youth
retreat at my church and it was amazing. We went to the Student Life
Tour at Champion Forest Baptist Church and stayed at host homes and all
that fun stuff. We had a hilarious lip sync and everyone did
wonderfully! Our 8th grade girls group bonded and grew with each other,
then we got clicky, but thats beside the point. DIVE was so much fun!
But
thats really not what this past weekend should be remembered for. I
mean i think its great to remember those things but we should really
remember DIVE by how much God made a difference in our lives during
that weekend and how our relationships grew with the people around us.
The whole purpose of DIVE was for God and for God's glory. We need to
remember that.
The theme for the weekend was "Chasing Daylight" and the verse was
"As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work." John 9:4
They
were talking about how were Chasing Daylight because a time will come
when we wont be able to work and we need to be out there touching
peoples lives and living for God and doing God's will for our lives and
letting God be the controller of our lives.
So at the student life conference on Friday we talked about Initiative. Jonatan took the initiative
to do something and he went to war when his dad didnt even know. He
took it upon himself. Most of the time we are waiting on God to do
something amazing in our lives, but how is He supposed to do anything
amazing when theres nothing to do because you arent doing anything? We
need to step out into the world and take the initiative to do things
that might be scary but to do them anyways and say "I really couldnt do
this if it was just me, but God i know you can give me the courage to
do this and even though i might look stupid, im doing it for YOU, and
You only." and just "do something." We have the choice to either follow
God and do what He wants us to do or to just do our own things. When we
let God do things we will be just blown away at the work He does. We
need to just go out and make a difference in the world by taking the initiative to do something and when we do that God will bless us for that and he will lead us on what to do next.
On Saturday we talked about influence and risk. We all influence others whether we realize it or not. Some people influence people in a bad way and some influence other in a good way. Which way do you want to influence others? This answer is probably obvious, we want to influence others in a good way right? But how do we influence
other people in a good way? We look at the Bible and ask God how to and
he will show us. God is so faithful it just blows me away! When we got
to risk we talked about to live the live God wants to live, it takes guts, it takes risks.
We have become prisioners of our own fear. If we really truely believe
in God why dont we tell other people nonstop? Its because we are
afraid. We dont take the initative when we know we influence people and we dont make ourselves take risks. The big questions are "are you going to step out or hide?" and "do you really trust God with you life?"
We
dont have to go out and actually tell others about Christ(im not saying
its not good) but people will see Christ through us if we just live our
lives for Him and be a good example and make good choices.
Well thats a short summary of what we talked about. Any comments on it?
